Bordering on brilliance…

There you have it!

Bite the bullet already…

So after much procrastination, I finally bought the new computer.  It has definitely been a progression combined with a touch of denial and denial related procrastination. I really hate the process of transferring everything over and it always takes waayy longer than anyone ever anticipates and is a major pain in my ass.  Keven’s been extremely helpful in the search, going through the ads and scouting out the best buy for the money.  So push finally came to shove and panic, combined with busy schedules, so the shopping commenced.  Keven willingly volunteered, and it was a good thing too, because he knew more about the products than sales reps did and he was more fun too! Things there ran late tho and I’d promised to buy him dinner for going with me, and somehow we ended up with salads and beer, which was not quite what I’d had in mind. Gonna come up with something better than that. I’ll keep you posted.

Things have progressed nicely…brought the box from the car into the house Thursday, Friday morning broke it out of the box and avoided looking at it the remainder of the day. I spent the greater part of today prepping myself for the task at hand and did everything I could to stay away from home.  Denial can be a great place to visit, but unfortunately, one always has to come back to reality.

Woohoo, was a screamin’ time at my place tonight! Finally got started around 7:30.  Spent 3 hours screwing around with the dsl modem(s) and installation, with an issue that was extremely frustrating, finally got on the phone with Verizon’s tech support at around 10:30 and the guy fixed it in about 10 minutes!  Did I mention I had this problem about a month earlier? Verizon blamed it on AOL firewalls, the AOL tech support guy in India whom I could barely understand, was telling me to uninstall and reinstall software, blah-blah-blah. It turned out it both techs were wrong.  God love the guy who finally fixed it!!  Yeehaw baby, somebody send the man a drink!!

Luckily, Carey was online all night avoiding studying and taking a quiz for her nutrition class.  I think she was doing her own little private experiment on the effects of beer consumption and it’s effects on her study abilities. She was highly entertaining, so even though she did less than fabulously on her quiz, the evening was far more enjoyable than I expected it to be!  It’s really amazing either of us got anything done.

Carey’s lack of success was due more to the fact that she did’t study, than the many post-quiz beers she had to drink to celebrate.

However, if she were to apply herself a bit more, she could probably learn a lot about the process of carbohydrate/sugar absorption that occurs while she is imbibing.

Her boyfriend’s theory is that beer makes you smarter, and he observed her drinking large quantities of water. Naturally he surmised that it must be the water flushing out her brain cells. Of course he took no responsibility for his part in the debauchery that led to lack of success.
